Associate, Equity Research

Position Summary: 

Bloom Burton is seeking a full-time Associate to join Canada’s most active healthcare equity research team on-site in Toronto, Ontario. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about the capital markets and healthcare to play a key role in a high performing and growing team. The successful candidate will work closely with our senior analysts in all aspects of the equity research function at Bloom Burton to help deliver the highest quality investment advice to our buyside clients. Start date is flexible, but the position is available immediately.

Responsibilities:

  • Support two senior equity research analysts;
  • Gather and consolidate company, stock and market data/ information;
  • Update financial models;
  • Update group presentations;
  • Participate on financial results calls;
  • Create report drafts; and
  • Distribute reports to clients.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree in business/accounting or CFA Level 1 (completed or in progress);
  • Dual academic background in life science and/or (bio)pharmaceutical company experience an asset, but not required;
  • Exceptional integrity, ethics and work ethic along with an ability to interact with colleagues and clients with the highest professional standards;
  • Experience performing financial and valuation analysis in Microsoft Excel;
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bloomberg experience an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal;
  • High attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality work product;
  • Proven time management skills to facilitate the completion of multiple tasks in parallel in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment; and
  • Willingness to learn and high intellectual curiosity.
